Back-cooking with herbs
Original Cookie Recipe     

The mint flavor is derived from the herb 'chocolate mint', which has been preserved by drying.  The cookie is soft, almost a brownie- like texture.
Choco-Nut Chip Cookies
(with a hint of mint)

1 heaping T of dried chocolate mint herb(finely crushed)
2 1/4 C all purpose flour
1/3 C Cocoa
3/4 C granulated Sugar
3/4 C packed light brown sugar
1/2 t salt
1 t baking soda
1C butter or margarine
1 t vanilla
2 eggs
2C(12oz. pkg.), semisweet chocolate chips.
1 C chopped nuts-Walnuts, pecans or almonds will do. Your choice

Cream sugars, vanilla and butter or margarine.  Add eggs and beat well.  Sift together dry ingredients including mint. Gradually add dry ingredients and mint to creamed mixture blending well.  Stir in nuts & chips.  Drop rounded teaspoons of dough on ungreased Cookie sheet and bake at 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned on bottom. Yield approx. 5 doz.
